Animate an approved image with MCP

Use the MCP image-to-video flow in two deliberate stages

Animating an approved image through MCP is not a single blind generation call. First call `list_models` and select a current image-to-video model, then confirm the credit balance and the operator's approval to spend. OfflineCreator Studio's public catalog currently lists Kling 2.6 Pro Motion as its image-animation model at 42 credits. Treat that listing as a dated preflight fact, not a permanent price or availability promise.

Start `generate` with the selected model ID, a motion prompt, the intended ratio, and a deliberate wait choice. For image-to-video, the public MCP implementation reserves the generation and returns an upload-required state rather than dispatching immediately. Pass that reserved generation ID to `upload_input`; the tool uploads the still, submits the reserved job, and can either return immediately or wait for terminal status. Preserve the generation ID because it connects the approved source, prompt, status checks, and downloaded clip.

Approve rights and disclosure before the upload

Upload an image only after it is editorially cleared. Record who owns the source, the license or permission that covers this use, whether identifiable people consented to animation, and whether trademarks, artwork, packaging, or confidential material create restrictions. OfflineCreator's terms require the user to own or have permission to submit everything in the source, including people, trademarks, and copyrighted material. They also put responsibility for reviewing outputs and applicable intellectual-property, publicity, privacy, advertising, and disclosure duties on the user.

Cloud disclosure is part of that approval. Studio's privacy policy says MCP prompts, settings, and source media are processed like web generations, and that the selected source media is sent to fal.ai for model processing. It explicitly warns against uploading material the user is not authorized to disclose to a cloud provider. If the still cannot leave the device or its contractual boundary is unclear, stop instead of treating MCP transport as permission.

Make the source pass the MCP upload checks

Prepare a clean PNG, JPEG, WebP, or GIF under 10 MiB. The published MCP client accepts either a local `filePath` or `imageBase64`, but remote MCP disables local path reads and requires base64 input. Local stdio paths must remain inside the configured upload root. The client checks decoded size and recognizes image bytes by their file signature; a declared content type that disagrees with those bytes is rejected. Renaming an unsupported file extension therefore does not make it a valid upload.

Choose the output ratio before reserving the job, and crop a working copy intentionally rather than sacrificing approved composition accidentally. Keep the untouched approved master beside that derivative. The MCP upload schema publishes `16:9`, `9:16`, and `1:1`; this page does not claim arbitrary ratios. Check edge clearance, protected text or logos, face and product scale, and room for the expected camera move at the selected frame.

Write for restrained motion, not a scene replacement

Describe what should move, what should remain visually stable, and how the camera behaves. For an approved product still, a useful prompt can specify one slow orbit, a subtle environmental action, stable product geometry, unchanged label placement, and a settled end frame. Avoid re-describing the entire still as though it must be regenerated; the source already carries composition, identity, color, and lighting information.

Keep the first attempt narrow enough to review. One camera move plus one environmental or subject action makes drift easier to diagnose than a sequence of cuts, transformations, and location changes. The provider documentation for the underlying Kling 2.6 Pro image-to-video endpoint requires a source image and prompt and offers five- or ten-second outputs. OfflineCreator's public MCP schema does not publish a duration argument, so confirm the live model record and do not invent one in the tool call.

Example: animate a rights-cleared bottle still

Approval record: studio-owned bottle photograph; photographer agreement permits derivative advertising concepts; no person appears; the temporary background artwork is licensed for this campaign; cloud-provider disclosure is accepted. Working copy: `bottle-approved-i2v-9x16.webp`, exported below the MCP size limit, with the bottle centered and enough edge clearance for a restrained move. Keep the original approval record and master file outside the generated-output folder.

Prompt: “Preserve the bottle silhouette, cap geometry, label position, material color, tabletop, and warm-black background. Camera makes one very slow clockwise orbit while a narrow ember reflection travels once across the glass; condensation catches light subtly; no label mutation, no new lettering, no added objects, no cut, no transformation. Settle into a stable hero frame.” Reserve the image-to-video generation, upload this working copy against the returned generation ID, and submit at `9:16`. This is an editorial example, not evidence that one run will preserve every protected detail.
